Leaving Mt. Vernon this morning took some extra time. We were riding 60 miles to Marshfield, MO and silently knew it would take less time than the previous day's we had ridden. So we had a relaxed lazy start.
We used GPS again today and it worked fairly well with one little glitch. I forgot to charge everything last night so mid ride this morning everything went blank. I plugged into an external battery pack, and Terry and I scrambled to get one of our devices to work until we got to lunch where we could hang out and give the devices a chance to charge.
There has been a fair amount of climbing short hills the last few days giving our legs a bit of a work out to the point where they are actually talking back to us.
We rode on the bike trail through Springfield, MO avoiding much of the heavy urban traffic. It's a beautiful wooded trail cutting through the botanical gardens in Springfield. Outside of Springfield we rode past more farms, a huge solar panel installation, and typical urban environments we can find in any city USA.
We dropped into Marshfield, MO early this evening where we are hanging our helmets tonight.
