Today there was a threat of Thunderstorms and a high probability of rain according to the weather service on our route. We decided at breakfast to sit today out and call it a weather day. (I should remember that the weather service is in Sales and not Production)
On our way in yesterday we rode past the Old Armory in Chandler, OK which is now a Route 66 museum. It was a great place to see some history of the Mother Road and see pictures of the towns in its heyday of the 1930's. We learned that the only street sign on the whole route is in Chandler, Oklahoma. The docent at the museum told Carol where it was and we had to go and see it.
As Terry and I rode through Davenport yesterday we noticed a restaurant with a lot of cars parked in the lot, and in a small town that's a good sign for good food. We went there for lunch today Dans BBQ Pit. It was a decent place, although a little worn in, it was a happy place.
