This morning while at breakfast at the hotel we met three motorcyclist who had spent the night there too. One of them wrote us a check for $500.00 for the Lazarex Cancer Foundation, and another gave us $20.00 in cash. What a great country we live in with so many wonderful people reaching out to us wanting to help.
Our ride today was short only 48 miles to Weatherford, Oklahoma. Humidity was high and kind of drained us by the time we arrived. Along the way we met Larry a touring cyclist going the other way. He was on his way home to Arizona, and started in Littlerock, Arkansas. He wanted to ride some of Route 66 because he turned 66 this year.
Larry was about the sixth person we've seen riding this route one way or the other.
One of the big differences of Oklahoma compared to the other states we've traveled through is how lush and green it is here. Very beautiful to see fields of green.
My navigation skills still seemed to be challenged from time to time. We've always been able to find an alternate route using our technology (cell phones and Garmin GPS) we carry with us, but it is a bit frustrating when your hot and tired.

As many of you have heard we are in Tornado Alley and this region is expecting a major and significant storm to hit tomorrow at 4pm that can produce Tornados. We have been watching the weather very closely and will not take any chances with our safety. So tomorrow we will be off the bikes no later than 1pm and will use our SAG support if needed. Carol will stay very close to us for the entire ride tomorrow.
