Yesterday was a long hard day on the bike. Our route took us on a beautiful scenic ride deep into the mountains of New Mexico. Leaving Gallup we had SW winds of 17 - 20 mph. The morning was headwinds and climbing, the afternoon was a mix of tailwinds, buffeting crosswinds, and occasional headwinds with 26 mph wind gust. We climbed to 7882 feet and crossed the Continental Divide, and then it was a nice 28 mile down hill ride into Grants New Mexico. With all the climbing and the winds all day we managed to pull off 103 miles.
