5/7 Lesterville to Farmington MO

A 45 mile ride today with 2,035 ft of elevation with some early 11% hills and many smaller ones later. No photos today but we visited Johnson's Shut-Ins(a shut in is a gorge). Missouri was built over 2 billion years of volcanic eruption. Also, we visited a civil war museum at a battle site called Pilots Knob. It was a shame the states came to blows in the 1860's with the loss of 500,000 lives. It reminds me of the song:
War Good God Y-all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothin
We must make sure that it never happens again. I enjoyed a leisurely pace today with Mark and got to Farmington about 3pm.
Tonight I bought a new pair of running shoes to replace my lost shoe. We had dinner at the Pasta House. Now we are watching the Warriors.
Tomorrow we cross the Mississippi (Old man river; muddy water) into Chester IL. We will stay the night and bike down into Kentucky weather permitting the next day.
