5/4 Marshfield to Houston MO

Everyday we ride our path east it changes with every mile. Today we left the farms behind and rode into beautiful densely wooded forest on our way to Houston MO. Along with these beautiful forests we encountered logging trucks hauling the hardwoods, using the same narrow lanes we are, and moving fast and precariously close to us. Logging trucks are loud and obnoxious so we can hear them before we could see them giving us plenty of time to stop and move off the road to let them pass safely. This procedure was done over and over many times during our 40 mile ride.

The weather was great with some northeast wind, but we had some 15% grades to climb which took a lot of our energy to navigate.
